Colorado's bioscience industry is poised to become one of the most exciting and advanced industry clusters in the country. The state is currently home to a thriving industry, comprised of biotechnology, medical device, pharmaceutical, health care providers, research institutions and those businesses that provide critical services and products to bioscience companies. At the center of this exciting growth is the Colorado BioScience Association, shaping the policies and developing the programs to help Colorado's bioscience and medical device companies grow and prosper. The industry's future in Colorado looks bright. The Colorado BioScience Association facilitates the growth of the industry in Colorado through advocacy, representation and service. CBSA supports the economic development of Colorado through the creation of a premier bioscience cluster within the state. As a member of national organizations including the Biotechnology Industry Organization, CBSA forms important partnerships on a national level in pursuing these goals. In addition, CBSA is a member of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and Research! America. Through its many programs and activities, CBSA is leading the effort for the growth of bioscience and medical device industries in Colorado. The Colorado BioScience Association is working to: Grow the state's workforce in bioscience and medical device industries. Speak with a single voice on behalf of the industry. Promote the growth of the industry by working for a better business environment. Provide networking, educational and technical programs for the industry. Fight for policies that support a strong biosciencea industry in the state. Persuade investors that Colorado bioscience and medical device companies are a good investment. Create technology transfer and research solutions through new partnerships with Colorado's research institutions. Influence Working within a single organization, Colorado’s bioscience industry is able to present a single voice on important policy matters at the state and federal levels. Members of the association work to develop positions on fiscal, regulatory, science, health care, and ethics issues which are conveyed with a single voice to decision-makers, including elected officials. The media and the public are encouraged to access CBSA's Information Resources in order to better understand the industry and its contributions to Colorado. Workforce Ensuring a sufficient supply of skilled professionals is one of our top priorities. CBSA is working directly with the leadership of the State’s executive branch agencies to address policies on workforce issues. We are working with universities and community colleges to ensure a strong workforce is coming through the state’s educational pipeline. Business Partners, Vendors and Service Providers CBSA solicits the membership of the highest quality businesses which provide essential services and products to the bioscience industry. Bioscience companies within CBSA know these service providers have made a commitment to meeting the unique needs of the industry, are essential partners to the industry and have substantial experience in working with the industry. Investment Capital A key objective of the CBSA is to present the opportunity of investment in bioscience to the financial community. CBSA conveys the message to investors that bioscience companies in Colorado have a strong future and are a good investment. Supportive Business and Regulatory Climate CBSA represents the interests of Colorado’s bioscience industry with federal, state, and local government agencies, with the media, and with other policy makers in the state. Key to becoming one of the country’s most notable and successful bioscience clusters is a supportive legislative and regulatory environment, and the CBSA is the key to ensuring this result. Programs and Events CBSA sponsors networking events, educational seminars, informational forums on topics relevant to this industry. These events are offered primarily in the Front Range area. Many of these programs are available only to CBSA members.
